Frequently Asked Questions
Q. -
"Are you accepting new patients?"
A. - Yes, we
are accepting new patients. Since our job is to fix people's bodies, we regularly
have patients successfully completing their care. This makes room for more new patients like you.
Q. -
"Do I need a referral from my family doctor to become a
patient?"
A. -
No, you do not need a referral from your family doctor to see Dr. Nyman. You have direct access to chiropractic care in Ontario and no
referral is necessary. If you are under your physician's
care and they are referring you to Dr. Nyman, a referral letter or note
may
be helpful.
Q. -
"Do you have a waiting list?"
A. -
No. Our "flex-booking system" allows us to see new patients on a priority
basis. That means you won't have to wait very long. We can
often accommodate you into our schedule on the same day, or at most within 48
hours.
Q.
- "What if I was referred for physio or massage?"
A. - The
choice is yours to make. In our biased opinion, we believe there is
no better treatment choice than chiropractic when it comes to
rehabilitating many soft-tissue and skeletal injuries. Chiropractic care
also works well in conjunction with physiotherapy and/or massage
therapy. So you might be able to do both.
Q. -
"How much does it cost? Does my insurance cover it?"
A. -
Many extended health plans cover a portion or the entire cost of
chiropractic care up to a yearly maximum without any requirement for
medical notes. Please check the specific details of your benefits
plan. If you don't have benefits, chiropractic care is still
affordable. It is often cheaper to fix your body than your car and
you can't replace your body as easily as your car. Chiropractic
care has been shown to be one of the most cost-effective treatment
choices for low back pain in several international studies. It has
also been shown to have one of the highest satisfaction ratings from
patients.
